Currency exchange rates are just one of the issues which people who are moving abroad need to take into account.

Paul Collins, editor of the BuyAssociation, has reminded people that there can be pitfalls involved in buying a property and setting up home in another country.

Making an international money transfer through a foreign exchange broker is one thing that can make the move that bit simpler while saving money.

Mr Collins warned people to hire an independent lawyer who is only operating on their behalf when they buy a property abroad.

Suggesting other possible difficulties, he said: "People may end up moving somewhere that is possibly a little bit isolated, that maybe doesn't have the swift access to things like healthcare or even just local facilities, like shops and leisure facilities that they might want.

"They may not anticipate how close that they want to be to some of these facilities."
