A good deal on currency exchange rates could help people who are struggling to afford their holiday this year.
According to recent research conducted by GfK NOP, 38 per cent of Britons are actively trying to spend less on their holiday this year.
In order to do this, over half (56 per cent) have sacrificed the luxury of an overseas trip.
However, by getting a good deal on currency exchange rates, people may find that a foreign holiday is more affordable than they think.
Not making currency exchanges at the airport is one of the best ways to get more for your money - independent foreign exchange brokers often offer much better rates.
Frances Coulson, vice-president of insolvency trade body R3, commented: "The current trend for staycations has been around for a few years, but the research highlights that the staycation's popularity has grown as a result of necessity, rather than choice.
"Quite simply, many people can no longer afford to spend as much on their holidays as before."
