The currency exchange rate for the pound could be of benefit to some expatriates.
Expatriate advice website Shelter Offshore has highlighted the fact that Britons who are living abroad and earning in a foreign currency are likely to have "greater buying power" due to the fact that "most currencies are stronger than the pound".
While recent discussion has focused on the problems associated with a weak sterling, this latest article notes the fact that expatriate buying power is increased by the currency exchange rate.
Making an international money transfer to the UK could help people living abroad to purchase a more desirable property in Britain, either for future personal use or as an investment.
Although the poor currency exchange rate for the pound may make certain aspects of life abroad more difficult for Brits, many people living in foreign countries are still enjoying the advantages that come with living in a sunny country.
Heating bills are "massively reduced" in countries like Cyprus when compared to the UK, the website noted.
In addition, living outside of the UK allows expatriates to explore legitimately available methods of avoiding or deferring taxation of investments and savings.
