International money transfers to Australia could be on the rise as interest in the country appears to be growing.

According to a recent report from the BBC, the city of Brisbane is becoming particularly popular with people from Britain who are keen to move abroad.

Record numbers are choosing the city over the more traditionally popular destinations of Sydney and Melbourne.

Originally from Newcastle upon Tyne, Jacqui Bird moved to the city seven years ago.

She told the news source what she enjoyed about the area: " "The best thing has been having my children and raising them here.

"Being able to provide things, for example private education, that I don't think I would have been able to do in the UK. I think I've given them a better life."

An international money transfer to Australia could help people to get more dollars for their pound when moving large sums abroad.
