Friends and family of expatriates could find it cheaper to stay in touch with their friends who are living abroad as a new mobile phone offer has been launched.

Service provider T-Mobile is to offer its pay as you go customers free weekend credit to make overseas calls.

Customers who top up their phones with £10 worth of credit in the week will then be offered £10 worth of credit free over the weekend.

Lysa Hardy, vice president of T-Mobile Propositions, Everything Everywhere, commented: "Our new International Reward offer makes it much easier for our pay as you go customers to keep in touch with family or friends who are abroad."

She added: "We know from our customers that they don't just want free minutes, but also low rates for international calls - which we absolutely offer, with calls from 5p, and some of the cheapest call rates to international mobiles available in the market."
