International money transfers could become popular as it has been suggested that the city is a hotspot for holiday property rentals.

According to Kate Stinchcombe Gillies, head of communications at holidaylettings.co.uk, the city is one of several locations where demand is outstripping supply for holiday home accommodation.

New York, London, Dubrovnik and Ibiza were also named as areas where foreign property buyers could stand to make a profit.

"These destinations are all good examples of locations with long seasons and/or year round appeal as well as low competition levels," said Ms Stinchcombe Gillies.

Her comments follow reports from the Holiday Lettings website, which claimed that May saw a 43 per cent increase in enquiries regarding summer holiday lettings compared to April.

An international money transfer made through an independent foreign exchange broker could save buyers money when looking at properties overseas.
