Vienna has been named the number one city for quality of living.
People considering making an international money transfer to live abroad may be tempted to explore the Austrian city following this latest news.
The study conducted by Mercer put Zurich and Geneva in 2nd and 3rd place respectively, while Vancouver and Auckland held joint 4th position.
Mercer suggested that little improvement in quality of living was expected due to the recent economic strain on countries around the world.
However, the group noted: "Government reactions have also been varied."
"In addition, many developmental activities initiated in previous years have only just started to make an impact on the daily lives of expatriates in the regions where these activities have been launched."
The study also noted the top eco-cities around the globe. Of these, Calgary in Canada came out on top, followed by Honolulu in the US, Ottawa also in Canada and Helsinki in Finland.
