International money transfers could be needed by self-employed people as an expert has suggested there may be more opportunities abroad for people with their own business.
Rhiannon Davies, co-founder of expatriate advice website Shelter Offshore, said that a lot of overseas countries have a "far more positive attitude to those who want to work for themselves, create employment for others and who bring new skills or services to the local environment".
She made the comment following a survey from Kensington which revealed that there has been a major increase in people working for themselves since the recession took hold in the UK.
Ms Davies encouraged people to consider working overseas: "People are right in thinking that they can have a better chance of success if they take their business abroad or start a new business overseas."
However, moving abroad is an expensive operation which can be made more costly by high foreign exchange fees from banks.
Making international money transfers through a foreign exchange broker could save self-employed people a significant percentage of their income if they are considering living and working in another country.
