Money transfers could be in demand after a journalist specialising in the property sector predicted that an increasing number of Britons are likely to move overseas in the near future.

Countries such as France, Spain and Portugal will be popular destinations for emigrants in the coming years, said freelancer Marc Da-Silva.

He added that people considering moving abroad will also look at English-speaking nations like the US, Canada, New Zealand and Australia.

"People have worked hard in the UK and they have got their reasons if they should choose to move abroad," Mr Da-Silva explained.

"A lot of people have taken early retirements after the recent credit crunch, so that is certainly one factor for moving overseas."

The comments come on the back of new research from NatWest which revealed that nine in ten expatriates feel financially secure in their new country of residence.
