Using an independent foreign exchange broker to search out the best foreign exchange rates could save couples money when planning for a wedding abroad.
According to the Marriage and Wedding Survey, commissioned by MORE Magazine this month, the average wedding comes in at around £7,500.
With European destinations such as France and Italy becoming increasingly popular with brides, foreign exchange rates need to be taken into account to ensure costs do not spiral further than necessary.
Kelly Chandler, director at the UK Alliance of Wedding Planners, commented on the appeal of France and Italy to British brides.
"Weather, history, normally you can get stunning castles, stately type homes, all sorts of palaces and literally lovely country manor houses," she said.
A foreign exchange broker will help people to avoid bank charges, which can be as much as four per cent on transactions.
Perhaps this extra money could be put toward a dream wedding in a European castle.
