British citizens who have chosen to make the move abroad have been reminded that they are still entitled to a vote in the UK.
The Foreign and Commonwealth Office has said that every British Citizen who has been registered to vote in the UK within the last 15 years is eligible to vote in the forthcoming general election.
However, the deadline for overseas voters to register their view is April 20th.
The general election was confirmed yesterday (April 6th) by prime minister Gordon Brown and will take place on May 6th this year.
It has been causing significant troubles for sterling on the currency exchange markets as analysts and currency traders have become worried over the chances of a hung parliament.
Traders are concerned that a parliament with no clear majority would lead to an uncertain economic climate, which in turn could knock back the UK's recovery from recession.
