Expatriates have been advised to look at their insurance cover when moving abroad.
Shelter Offshore, a publication which looks at life abroad, has advised people that health insurance is the one form of cover which they cannot do without.
The article claims that, while travel and property would all be safer with cover, health insurance should be prioritised when finances are tight.
This is because some countires, such as America, will not offer health care to anyone not covered by an insurance plan.
However, health insurance is expensive and, according to Shelter Offshore, it is increasing in cost by as much as three times the rate of standard inflation.
Making an international money transfer for insurance costs could be made cheaper through a foreign exchange broker.
Consumers could save money with a broker because they tend to offer a better rate of currency exchange than their bank would be able to.
