An increasing number of teachers are showing an interest in working abroad, according to an expatriate advice publication.
Shelter Offshore has conducted a survey which revealed the many benefits of teaching abroad.
Teachers from Britain, who had worked abroad, highlighted the "serious educational opportunities" which are available around the world.
Mary Van Der Heijden has taught in Amsterdam, Borneo, Jakarta, Brunei and Qatar and found that the experiences have been "hugely valuable".
International schools will often offer foreign workers accommodation as part of the package, Shelter Offshore reported.
This could allow teachers more disposable income, some of which they may wish to send back to their British bank account.
International money transfers can allow people to send their money home at a good rate of currency exchange.
Teachers do not need to speak the native language of a country and many can also benefit from the possibility to work under a short contract and move on to another location after a couple of years.
