International money transfers may be of use to wealthy Britons as a new survey reveals the high numbers who are looking to move abroad.

The latest survey from international law firm Withers Worldwide found that three-quarters of high earners are considering moving abroad within the next year.

Of the countries under consideration, Switzerland came out top with 63 per cent of respondents claiming it was the most desirable location.

The US, Hong Kong, Monaco, Singapore, France and the United Arab Emirates followed Switzerland in the popularity stakes.

Chris Groves, partner in the wealth planning team at Withers, commented: "Whilst the poll was never intended to be scientific, it gives a clear indication of the intentions and concerns of Britain's high earners.

"The combination of higher taxes and uncertainty over the government's future intentions means that the country is in danger of losing its top wealth creators and earners."

The Swiss franc was trading well against sterling today (February 5th) with one pound buying 1.68 francs at around 13:00GMT.
