Work is the most common reason for expats to head overseas, a new survey by Bupa International has suggested.
The research consulted more than 1,300 expats living in more than 100 countries and asked about what their lives are like overseas.
Just under two-thirds (63 per cent) of people cited employment as their prime motivation for moving abroad, except for those based in Spain where lifestyle is the prime motivating factor (31 per cent).
Those working abroad and keen to send their money back home, for whatever reason, could find that an international money transfer could help them do this.
Dr Sneh Khemka, medical director at Bupa International, stated for many people, heading overseas is a huge life-changing challenge as well as a dream come true.
"There are many factors to consider when choosing the right home away from home and careful planning is essential," he added.
In other news, the recently released HSBC Bank International Expat Explorer survey suggested that Canada, Spain and Germany were among the easiest countries for expats to settle down and start a new life in.
