Finland is encouraging expatriates to relocate to the Nordic country.
The Finnish business organisation, EVA, is reportedly looking to improve the social aspects of the country in order to make the move more appealing to foreign business people.
Speaking to the Helsinki Times, Risto EJ Penttila, director of EVA policy, said that an "inadequate social network" was a particular problem for expatriates.
He added: "The social issue was important, such as finding meeting places or integrating into the culture, family and city."
Mr Penttila emphasised that expatriates were vital for Finland's future. He said: "The goal is to find concrete ideas on how to go forward with the expat community
we need to make Finland and Helsinki more attractive."
Finland is the only Nordic EU member country which uses the euro as its national currency.
The main exports from the country are timber and metal, but the Finns also play a big role in the telecommunications market through companies such as Nokia.
