Britons looking to move abroad and earn a wage in a foreign currency could be encouraged by news that global employment markets are improving.

The Asia Pacific region is the strongest employment area with hiring rates similar to those from before the recession, according to a survey from employment service provider Manpower.

Europe and the Americas were a little less secure with employment still low but predicted to rise in early 2010.

Jeffrey Joerres, chairman and chief executive of Manpower Inc confirmed that "in the Americas and Europe we are seeing limited but continued positive signals".

Mr Joerres added: "We have yet to see the robust hiring intentions we have seen in past recoveries, however, we are seeing clear signs of improvement."

The Manpower Employment Outlook Survey has been carried out for the past 45 years and measures quarterly changes in employment intentions around the world.

The UK was added to the survey in 1966 and the review now looks at the employment patterns of a total of 35 countries and territories.
