Australia looks to be a strong candidate for Brits considering a move abroad, as a rise in full time employment has given the economy a further boost.

November saw the number of people in full-time employment rise by 30,800 compared to figures from October, according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics

As well as a positive change in employment figures, the country's central bank also recently increased interest rates from 3.5 per cent to 3.75 per cent.

The reduction in unemployment levels has been largely attributed to the stimulus provided by the Australian government.

However, Australia's treasurer Wayne Swan and shadow treasurer Joe Hockey disagree over the benefits and risks of the stimulus.

"With this additional government expenditure and additional government debt, upward pressure on interest rates is going to endanger people's jobs" said Mr Hockey.

Mr Swan countered: "If it were not for stimulus Australia would be in recession right now."

Australia has been one of the few developed economies not to have gone into recession and has seen interest rates rise for three consecutive months.
