Tenerife is a popular winter location for Brits, with many likely to need the services of foreign exchange companies to stay in the location.
A study by the Canary Islands Tourist Board recently revealed the destination attracts more UK citizens than Lanzarote and Gran Canaria.
The findings may interest potential expats who are considering exchanging money to escape the British winter.
Some 45.4 per cent of Brits who travel to the Canary Islands choose Tenerife as their destination, while 24.6 per cent opt for Lanzarote and 17.7 head to Gran Canaria.
Paco Gutierrez, promotions executive from the Spanish Tourist Office, explained that the islands' amenities and weather are responsible for drawing visitors to the archipelago.
He said: "The islands do offer a very nice climate all year round, which some destinations won't."
Meanwhile, easyJet recently reported a rise in demand for winter flights to mid-haul locations such as Morocco and Egypt.
