Western Australia may prove a lucrative destination for Brits who wish to move abroad, it has emerged.

Peter Kenyon, professor of economic policy at Curtin University, Perth, recently suggested the region is beginning to recover from the economic crisis.

His comments follow a report by consultancy firm Access Economics, which draws attention to an increase in metal prices, the Telegraph reports.

The region is home to mines that reduced their output during the recession due to a fall in demand for minerals.

However, orders for metals have increased from China and this has led to an increase in investment and jobs, which may interest Brits who plan to exchange money to fund their new lives abroad.

"Consumer confidence is back, business confidence is back and interstate and overseas migration continues," Mr Kenyon told the publication.

In other news, STA Travel recently encouraged Brits to investigate foreign exchange trading figures before they go overseas.
