Greece's affordable living costs make the country a cheap destination for Brits despite foreign exchange rates, according to a government body.
The Greek National Tourism Organisation (GNTO) recently claimed that UK visitors are unlikely to be put off staying in the country due to the strong euro.
Figures from the organisation show that the number of travellers to the region dropped by seven per cent as a result of the economic slowdown, but this is expected to change.
Sofia Panayiotaki, director of the UK & Ireland office at the GNTO, explained that Brits will be drawn back to Greece as it offers a low-cost lifestyle.
"It is a destination that many people can afford and that is one of the reasons why people continue to return to us," she said.
"We hope that for next year, the numbers will be better and we have an increase in arrivals."
In related news, resort firm Aquis Hotels recently announced it plans to construct 20 properties in Greece.
