Potential expats may soon be converting currency in order to live in France, new research suggests.

Real estate firm Property Frontiers recently claimed that the country has much to offer Brits who wish to move abroad.

Christopher Chadd, head of research from the company, made the statement following a poll by comparison site uSwitch.com

The research put the UK at the top of a list of countries considered to be the worst in Europe to live in.

According to the survey, UK residents have a lower life expectancy than nationals from other areas, such as France.

Mr Chadd said: "As a nation we are fully aware of the benefits of living on the continent.

"Better weather, cheaper petrol, cheaper food and cheaper alcohol - booze cruising is a massive business."

In related news, a United Nations study recently named France as the eighth best place to live in the world, while the UK ranked 21st in the poll.
