Expats may like to make money transfers to medical care policies following health warnings from the European Union (EU).
Brits living in Europe were recently reminded to protect themselves against swine flu.
Maria Larsson, Sweden's public health minister, issued the alert following fears that the public are becoming complacent regarding the dangers posed by the bug.
Expats are advised to get vaccinated against swine flu in order to limit the spread of the virus.
"Even if the pandemic situation isn't so dramatic in Europe right now, we have to listen to the experts who say it's not time to lower our guard," said Ms Larsson.
"I hope that people still want to have a vaccination; it's the best way to get good protection."
In related news, financial advisor Shelter Offshore recently urged expats to take out medical insurance policies with companies that offer 24-hour support, in case of swine flu outbreaks.
