Online searches for flights to mid-haul destinations are increasing due partly to foreign exchange trading figures, industry experts suggest.
Recent research by comparison portal Cheapflights.co.uk shows that Brits are increasingly likely to consider visiting destinations such as Egypt and Morocco.
Francesca Ecsery, global sales director at the company, stated her belief that these countries are more affordable to UK travellers as they are outside the eurozone.
She said: "A lot of people are looking at Turkey and Morocco and places that are just half an hour off the normal destinations they would go to.
"It is not too far, easy to get to and is cheap when you get there."
Meanwhile, a recent study by the Post Office named Thailand as the most affordable destination for Brits, due to favourable foreign exchange rates.
