Brits have been advised to research the value of foreign currency well ahead of going abroad.
Money exchange expert Stephen Heath recently voiced his concerns that some UK travellers are confused in regard to the value of the pound in exotic destinations.
Mr Heath explained that as the euro strengthens more people are being drawn to locations beyond the continent, such as Turkey and Egypt.
However, some Brits staying in these destinations are unsure of the impact of their foreign exchange rates.
Mr Heath said: "People have looked at other destinations like Turkey and Egypt and have less knowledge about the currencies in those countries and the value of those.
"It's about planning ahead and going to the internet."
Meanwhile, recent Thomas Cook research reveals that 28 per cent of Brits admit that they do not investigate the costs of living before travelling to their chosen destinations.
