Overseas visitors could soon be exchanging money in greater numbers in Florida, according to a travel expert.

The Orlando Tourism Bureau recently stepped forward to highlight the state as an attractive destination for Britons, who may need to buy foreign currency to visit the region.

Danielle Courtenay, from the organisation, stated her belief that the recession is pushing people to stay in more affordable destinations, such as Florida.

In addition, the warm climate and the number of activities on offer in Orlando also prove popular with Brits.

Ms Courtenay said: "The UK market is actually our number one international market and there are a couple of things which make Orlando popular with them.

"One is certainly the language, second is the guaranteed sun and third is the number of attractions."

Research from Visa Europe reveals that other countries attracting large numbers of Brits include Spain, France and Greece.
