The accessibility of France makes it an affordable destination for Britons who may be intending to make foreign exchange transactions, according to industry experts.

Tourism specialist Atout France recently stated that the country can be reached easily from the UK, which appeals to visitors on tight budgets.

Popular regions include the south and west coasts as they also offer inexpensive hobbies and activities.

A spokesperson from the company said: "For instance, spa breaks in Aquitaine or in Rhone Alps, or even golfing in northern-France become wallet-friendly.

"France is the closest country from the UK so it offers a wide range of means of transportation, enabling people to make the most of tight budgets."

Other reasonably-priced activities available in the country include Gascony walking tours and barging in Mayenne.

In other news, figures released by the Office for National Statistics revealed that the number of Brits travelling overseas in the three months preceding June remained stable at 15.2 million.
