Foreign exchange transactions made by Brits may increase in mid-haul destinations, industry experts suggest.

Booking agent the Co-operative Travel recently stated that UK travellers are choosing to visit countries located outside the eurozone in a bid to save money.

Alistair Rowland, director of distribution at the company, explained that as the euro has strengthened regions that use other currencies are attracting more Brits.

"When the euro was at a pound for a euro, Europe and particularly Spain and Greece, were seen as very expensive," he said.

"The issue generally around Europe right now is that it is expensive; hence the growth in more mid-haul destinations like Tunisia, Greece and Turkey."

In other news, aviation expert OAG recently revealed that the number of flights being booked has increased by 0.2 per cent, indicating that more Brits are choosing to travel overseas.
