UK emigrants who return to live in Britain can now make money transfers to a new health insurance product, it has emerged.

National Friendly recently launched new policies that are aimed at expats who suffer from some medical conditions, the Telegraph reports.

Many Britons who decide to move back to the UK are unable to transfer their health insurance from their adopted country.

This can cause problems when expats who have developed health conditions attempt to purchase new policies as they are often expensive.

However, Stephen Walker, from Medical Insurance Services, explained that the firm offers policies whose premiums are partly based on straightforward questions rather than in-depth medical exams.

"You get cover on a continuous cover basis with no further underwriting," he said.

"In other words, National Friendly will provide cover on the same underwriting terms as the previous policy."

Meanwhile, new government proposals will see expats, who live in some long-haul destinations for up to six months a year, receiving free medical care in the UK.
