Britons may boost their job prospects by exchanging money and working abroad, according to industry experts.
Travel portal Gapyear.com recently highlighted the positive impact that working abroad may have on CVs.
The company suggested that as the credit squeeze continues and redundancies increase, Britons should consider using foreign exchange services and look for international job roles.
Tom Griffiths, founder of the website, stated that volunteer work can provide learning experiences that may be welcomed by potential employers.
Thailand is proving particularly popular with young professionals who are using their redundancy money to finance new lives abroad.
"We know that employers like the life skills that you develop when you're overseas," he said.
"It's seen as a positive on your CV, the fact that you're not sitting back looking unemployed, it looks like you've gone overseas."
Figures from STA Travel show that Britons spend up to £5,000 a year when working abroad.
