Young professionals are being given the opportunity to make reduced international payments in order to work overseas thanks to a new scheme.

Charity Raleigh International is teaming up with New Projects Abroad and businesses from the private sector to part-fund the posts, the Telegraph reports.

The initiative aims to boost the job prospects of recent graduates by placing them in overseas employment.

Peter Slowe, founder of New Projects Abroad, explained that the company makes money transfers on behalf of young professionals to help them fund their trips.

"The cost of the trip, normally around £2,000 is met by private companies after a 30 per cent discount has been applied by Projects Abroad," he told the paper.

"With 48 graduates chasing every job on offer this year, we all need to do our bit."

Workers faced with redundancy may improve their CVs by working overseas, according to travel resource Gapyear.com.
