Expats affected by the credit crunch may like to transfer their money to an affordable health insurance policy.

Medical cover provider IMG Europe recently explained that one of its newest products can help UK emigrants who may have seen their savings and pensions take a hit amid the recession.

Carl Carter, the company's managing director, told the Telegraph: "As expat incomes and pensions fall across Europe, the timing could not be better."

The firm has put together cut-price health insurance policies that can be bought by those living in Gibraltar, Greece, Malta, Portugal, Spain and Cyprus.

Expats looking to transfer money to medical insurance plans can choose from three levels of cover.

The most comprehensive policy offers emergency treatment to those travelling beyond their home country, which may interest UK emigrants.

In other news, property portal TheMoveChannel.com recently stated that expats moving from the UK due to high taxes may boost investment opportunities in their chosen countries.
