Employer schemes that offer workers money to take a year off may benefit Britons who are interested in making international money transfers, according to industry experts.

Writing in the Guardian, finance commentator Lisa Bachelor, recently spoke of the positive impact that working overseas can have on the careers of UK emigrants.

Ms Bachelor explained that several companies are currently offering 12-month pay cuts to their employees on the condition that staff take a year-long career break.

Potential expats have been urged to transfer money to overseas destinations and get jobs abroad.

"The evidence suggests that those who have the patience to set up a placement are rewarded in the long-term," said Ms Bachelor.

"Almost all said they were now more capable of handling different cultures and three-quarters suggested they became better communicators."

In other news, property expert Casa Travella recently suggested that Britons make international payments to mortgages in order to secure affordable homes in Italy.
