Using foreign currency services to exchange larger amounts of money may lead to cash savings, according to industry experts.
The Daily Mail's finance portal thisismoney.co.uk recently revealed that Britons may be able to get better foreign currency exchange deals if they buy in bulk.
Speaking to the resource, Olive Walker, holiday home owner in France, explained that she likes to purchase significant amounts of money on a monthly basis while abroad.
"I always phone up and order more than £500 in one go," she said.
"Then I know that I don't have to worry about paying for it for another month."
In addition to buying in bulk, the portal recommends that Britons convert their money in advance as using foreign exchange services in airports can prove costly.
Research by finance consultant Mercer recently revealed that countries in Europe, such as Paris and Rome, are likely to be cheaper for expats this year due to a weak euro.
