International money transfers to health policies may help expats cope with the costs of medical care, it has emerged.
Expat resource, the Weekly Telegraph recently raised its concerns that more people are likely to claim on their health insurance as the recession continues.
According to the paper, problems such as psychosomatic illness brought on by worry may lead to an influx of claims.
In addition, inflation for overseas medical care will see the cost of treatments becoming more expensive, indicating that Brits living abroad ought to make money transfers to insurance policies.
Steve Clements, from financial advisor Mercer, told the paper: "Within the UK it's just about possible to control [inflation] costs.
"It's different abroad where you have a lot more providers to encompass."
Meanwhile, Tokyo was recently named the most expensive city for expats, according to a Mercer study.
