A growing number of Britons are choosing to make an international payment to Australia, it has been claimed.
The Guardian states that many Britons are choosing to emigrate during the recession in an effort to find new employment and begin a new life, with Australia proving to be a top destination.
However, the newspaper also revealed that people are increasingly making an international money transfer to Canada, with the north American country becoming another top choice for those looking to emigrate from the UK.
As the recession continues to take its toll on the British economy, people are increasingly tempted by a move abroad and some have been using their redundancy pay cheques to fund an international payment and the start of a new life in a new country.
Last month, a study from NatWest International personal banking reported that New Zealand is the place most British emigrants feel contented with their life.
The country's stable economy and slower pace of life were reported to be among the main reasons why British expatriates living in the country were so happy with their new lifestyle.
