Wills ought to be put in place before Brits move abroad, according to industry experts.

Financial advisor Shelter Offshore recently urged potential expats who are planning to transfer money to overseas investments to get their financial matters in order.

The company explained that sorting out estates can be particularly complex if the deceased has assets in the UK and their new country.

Writing a will prior to moving is more straightforward and the advisor highlights a service called Totally Free Wills that is dedicated to Brits planning to make money transfers abroad.

For those who have already relocated, the expert suggests company Wills for Expatriates, which can help Britons whose investments are located in more than one country.

"Get a will written, that way you avoid the potentially disastrous situation that your loved ones could face if you, as an expat, fail to have a will in place," said the advisor.

Meanwhile IMG Europe recently launched a health insurance policy designed for expats living in the Mediterranean.
