A new product is providing expats looking to make money transfers to health insurance policies with more choice, it has emerged.
Insurance specialist IMG Europe recently launched policies that are aimed at UK emigrants living in Mediterranean countries.
The firm explained its Coversure International Healthcare product may appeal to Britons wishing to make international money transfers to affordable health-care policies.
Expats living in Gibraltar, Spain, Portugal, Cyprus, Greece and Malta can all become policyholders with the firm.
The insurance offers three levels of cover, one of which provides funds for healthcare outside of expats' permanent residences, which may interest those visiting the UK.
Carl Carter, managing director of the insurer, said: "In light of recent financial hardships throughout Europe, the timing could not be better for the launch of this much needed product."
Health Care Matters recently urged expats to get health insurance in place in case of widespread swine flu outbreaks, the Telegraph reports.
