New Zealand is becoming an increasingly popular place for Britons looking to make an international money transfer and emigrate to another country.
According to new research, a growing number of Britons are choosing to make an international payment to New Zealand and set up home in the country because of the wide variety of opportunities it can offer people.
As the recession continues to affect jobs and increase unemployment in the UK, the cheaper cost of living is proving a big pull for Britons at the moment, while less traffic and warmer weather are combining to make New Zealand one of the most sought-after emigration destinations.
Figures published by the NatWest International Personal Banking (IPB) quality of life report have shown that people making an international money transfer to New Zealand are the happiest of all British expatriates anywhere in the world.
Dave Isley, head of Natwest IPB, said: "The chance to work or retire abroad to a place in the sun has long been a desire for many Brits and it is interesting to note for those considering the move to wider shores that the grass can indeed be greener on the other side."
The UK has been suffering from recession since the start of this year and although a growing number of indicators have suggested the country is beginning to emerge from the downturn, the Bank of England has warned that any recovery will be slow, meaning more people who have been made redundant may begin thinking about emigrating in a bid to find a better quality of life.
