Brits are likely to continue making foreign exchanges transactions in Spain as they see the country as a "home from home", according to industry experts.
The Spanish Tourist Office recently revealed it plans to capitalise on the region's current popularity with UK visitors.
Carmen Hernandez, market analyst for the company, explained that a forthcoming campaign will further push the positive impression Britons have of Spain, which may increase the number of foreign exchanges transactions in the area.
Ms Hernandez said that the region's driving system and high-quality medical facilities are a major draw for visitors, many of who may make a permanent move to the country.
"They feel safe and secure there and they know they can communicate easily with people, drive on safe roads and get the best healthcare if they need it," she said.
"The links between both countries are undeniable and strong. We want to emphasise the idea of how Spain is a home from home."
Meanwhile, figures from the Office of National Statistics have revealed that the number of Britons relocating overseas increased in 2008, the Times reports.
