Those working in the creative sectors may find that they perform better at work if they live abroad.

Financial advisor Shelter Offshore recently highlighted research that suggests UK citizens who transfer money to relocate overseas could become better at their jobs.

Researchers William Maddux and Adam Galinsky pooled studies that examined the work performance of people who had moved abroad.

Their paper reveals that expats tended to show more creativity in experiments, while those who were simply travelling around countries scored lower on the same tests.

Shelter Offshore explained that enhanced creativity may be due to changes in mental processes needed when emigrants transfer money overseas and adapt to their new lives.

"If you want to learn how to think outside of the box we would suggest that you move abroad for a while," said the financial advisor.

A recent Arabian Business poll has reveals that UK emigrants feature several times in its Expat Power list.
