Potential expats may like to consider France as a possible new home following a poll.
Research by TheFrenchPaper reveals that former UK residents highly rate the country on many sectors.
Some 92 per cent of Britons who transferred money to mortgages in France claim they enjoy a better quality of life than they did while living in the UK.
A further 94 per cent of emigrants stated that they are leading healthier lives as they tend to eat more fruit and vegetables.
Moving to France also boosts happiness levels, with 82 per cent of expats reporting that they feel more content in the country.
Michael Streeter, editor of the publication, stated his belief that the region meets the requirements of UK emigrants searching for an improved quality of life.
"One of the striking features of these findings is that so many Britons have come to France searching for their dream - and they have found that the grass really is greener," he said.
Recent research by Midlands Co-op Travel revealed that European destinations are still proving popular with UK citizens despite the strong euro.
