Online foreign exchange services offer "best deals"

Some of the most affordable foreign exchange services can be found online, according to a leading consumer watchdog.

Which? Money study recently urged Britons looking to exchange their money to look to the internet for good deals.

A study by the watchdog revealed that the most costly foreign exchange facilities are often found in airports.

In addition, the investigation highlighted banks and travel agents as offering pricey rates compared with online services, which may interest expats who need to change their money.

Martyn Hocking, editor of the magazine, said: "Thinking ahead and changing your money before you travel means you'll avoid getting stung.

"Head to a city centre bureau de change or go online for the best deals."

Europe remains a favoured destination for Brits making foreign exchange transactions, according to Midlands Co-op Travel.
