People who are moving abroad to work need to ensure they have organised their finances, it has been suggested.

A growing number of workers are expected to leave the UK in search of employment, Shelter Offshore explained and there are a number of things they need to arrange before they leave.

It advised people to sort out their bank accounts and organise any direct debits or standing orders they might have for regular outgoings.

Brits abroad may also want to consider getting a bank account in their new country of residence because foreign exchange rates can fluctuate and salaries could be paid directly into them.

People can also use international money transfers if they require large sums of money to purchase things such as a new home or car.

The website also suggested those moving to another country should check their medical insurance.

Earlier this year, a report by Natwest revealed there are an increasing number of workers spending time abroad to take advantage of career opportunities and to try and earn more money. ADNFCR-1995-ID-18950115-ADNFCR
