Countries that are traditionally viewed as expensive locations for emigrants may still offer affordable exchange rates, industry experts report.
The Association of Independent Tour Operators (AITO) recently encouraged Britons to consider making foreign exchange transactions in Sweden and Iceland.
A spokesman from AITO explained that France and Spain remain popular as affordable destinations but other locations can still offer value for money.
Sweden is often believed to be a pricey location but current exchange rates mean that Britons could get good deals in the country.
"You can look at some places that don't have the euro which you may have always perceived to be expensive," said the spokesman.
"For example, Sweden and Iceland; most people perceive them as expensive destinations but that's not the case at the moment due to the exchange rate."
Iceland recently indicated that it may attempt to join the European Union once it has stabilised its economy, which may mark it as an ideal destination for Britons making foreign exchange transactions.
