The majority of UK expats making foreign exchanges abroad feel they are getting a better deal than if they were in their home country, industry experts report.

Amid the recent global recession and the weakening pound, Britons recently stated that they are better off in their adopted lands.

Financial advisor Shelter Offshore has highlighted figures released by Halifax that show 66 per cent of expats believe the economies abroad are healthier than that of the UK.

The money expert states that Britons living abroad are benefiting from international foreign exchange rates as the cost of living is cheaper and rents remain affordable.

"Two thirds of those surveyed said that their new nation of residence was fairing far more healthily economically speaking than Britain," said the financial advisor.

"The grass does actually seem to be at least a little bit greener abroad."

Artemis travel recently highlighted Turkey as a popular location for Brits making foreign exchange transactions.
