Iceland could soon be attracting those interested in international money transfers if the country successfully joins the European Union (EU).
Johanna Sigurdardottir, Iceland's prime minister, recently revealed proposals that would see the country applying to become a member of the EU, Reuters reports.
Ms Sigurdardottir explained that if Iceland was successfully integrated into the EU, the country would soon begin using the euro.
"I think it is very important that we immediately apply for membership. It is my opinion that we would be able to adopt the euro within four years," she told the agency.
Countries that join the EU must offer low inflation rates and limited currency fluctuations, which may appeal to UK emigrants planning international money transfers to the region.
Meanwhile, south-east France was recently touted as an ideal location for property investors thanks to its luxurious accommodations.
