People considering emigrating from the UK can still find themselves good bargains around the world, it has been suggested.

Anyone contemplating making the move should check the foreign exchange rates carefully because some countries can still offer good bargains and be considerably cheaper places to live than the UK, reports a survey from travel firm Thomas Cook.

According to the organisation, many Britons can enjoy cheaper holidays by flying abroad than they can in the UK, suggesting that people who look to emigrate can expect to find the cost of living lower than in Britain.

The report revealed people should consider carefully when making a foreign exchange because there are still good bargains to be had despite the global economic turmoil.

A cup of coffee in Goa, for example, was found to cost ten times less than in the UK, while a beer in Bulgaria can cost as little as £1.20.

Recent research from Greenwich Associates has claimed global foreign exchange trading will slow over the course of 2009 as the world's financial markets continue to struggle with a worldwide recession.
