A growing number of Britons are choosing to emigrate to New Zealand because of the worsening northern hemisphere climate, it has been claimed.
The New Zealand Visa Bureau reports it is expecting a rise in the number of applications from Brits planning to emigrate to the country because they are fed up with the poor weather in the northern hemisphere.
The UK has suffered a number of poor winters, with little sunshine and some areas of the country have even faced major floods.
As a result, many Britons are looking to emigrate to warmer climes where the problem of flooding can be left behind.
According to the Times, scientist James Lovelock believes New Zealand will be one of the few places on earth to hold out against the impact of climate change for many years, making it an ideal location for people planning a money transfer abroad.
Meanwhile, neighbouring Australia has recently changed its policies on the type of workers it wants to attract to the country, following the global economic downturn.
The country has reduced the urgency with which it is calling for construction workers, meaning people planning a money transfer from the UK should ensure they would still be welcomed by the Australian authorities.
