The Burgundy region of France is one of the most popular destinations with British tourists, it has been claimed, meaning people looking to buy an overseas property could do well to make an international money transfer for property in the region.
Brits make up the second biggest market for tourism in Burgundy in France, according to Maison de la France.
Veronique Beigenger, Burgundy press officer at the French government tourist office, said: "[The British] come over for short weeks and stopovers [and] also for little holidays."
People considering making an international money transfer to buy a foreign property to rent out may need to look at the Burgundy market because they could benefit from this strong British tourist trade.
Ms Beigener went on to say that cities like Dijon and Beaune helped make the region famous.
With a turnover of 2.2 billion Euros (£2 billion), tourism represents the first economic sector of Burgundy, ahead of the wine trade for which it is famed.
Tourism provides 6.3 per cent of the regional GDP for Burgundy.
